The Wellington Cross Country Vehicle Club is one of the larger and more active 4WD clubs in New Zealand with around 250 members.
Club activities are planned and co-ordinated by an enthusiastic and capable committee.
Regular club activities include:
- Back road touring trips
- 4WD trips.
- Driver training days – an ideal way to learn more of the capabilities and limitations of your vehicle
- Club Challenges – friendly competition events.
- Monthly club meetings
- Gymkhanas
- Ladies days
- and more!
Trips are generally graded to suit driver experience and vehicle types: from back road touring (on public roads) through novice/family/shiny 4wd vehicle trips (easy going, little risk of damage) to hard yakka (hard going, greater experience required, a bit more than a few paint scratches expected!).
All trips offer a great way to get out into the wilds, often to places that are off limits to free public access.
Backroad Touring and Family Shiny class trips are open to prospective members. [See the Trips page for details on required equipment and trip fees].
